Meet Our Doctors
Brent Rising, DDS
My favorite part of working in the dental profession is seeing the outcomes of various treatments: the way someone grins from their new smile, the relief and comfort someone displays from eliminating their pain, and even the satisfaction someone has from being able to chew and eat the foods they love once again. As a healthcare provider, I love being able to take care of people. I am dedicated to providing the highest quality dentistry with all the comforts. I look forward to getting to know people and the challenge of creating a unique and customized plan for each patient. Helping people on a personal level is more fulfilling than I ever thought possible.
I was born and raised in a small town in North Dakota. North Dakota State University is where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree. My wife and I, however, have called Omaha home for many years. Creighton University is where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. On July 4th, 2013, we welcomed our baby girl. It has been fun wearing the dad hat and seeing our daughter grow. We also have three border collies. When not in the office, I enjoy spending time in the outdoors with my family and dogs. I can regularly be found camping in Nebraska, hiking in Montana, or fishing in North Dakota. Having spent time in Honduras and Guatemala helping the under-served with their dental needs, I find it personally rewarding to give back to communities and help the less fortunate.

I have practiced dentistry at Today’s Dental since 1980. It is my goal to help patients achieve ideal dental health safely, comfortably, and confidently. I am proud of my team and their shared commitment to help patients improve their health by providing the best dental care possible.
I earned my undergraduate degree at Kansas State and my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Creighton School of Dentistry. I have 32 years of experience in the treatment of occlusion, IV sedation dentistry, CEREC®, and bioesthetic dentistry.
Every year, there are dozens of advancements made in the dental field. Continuing education offers the opportunity to stay current with the latest trends and treatment techniques. I recognize that dentistry is always changing and advancing, and I do everything I can to provide my patients with the most advanced and complete care available. I regularly participate in continuing education opportunities through my many professional affiliations.
I have been a resident of Omaha since 1976. I have four daughters, eight grandchildren, and a pet turtle. In my free time, I enjoy traveling to California for SCUBA and free diving, cooking, and tackling new and challenging things.

During high school, I knew I wanted to be in the medical field. I come from a long line of physicians, but I didn’t feel interested in that area of work. Dr. Lannie Weak was my dentist when I was young, and I asked him for a job to get a better idea of the dental field. I was 16 years old and found my calling enjoying all aspects of dentistry and that has continued even now. As cliché as it sounds, the main reason I love what I do is the relationships I get to build with our patients. I am very much a people person, and getting to see patients twice a year–if not more–is my favorite part. Most people do not enjoy going to the dentist but my #1 goal is to convince them otherwise (including my mom!). Not many people find what they should do with their life so early, but I was fortunate to get that opportunity.
In 2004, I married my high school sweetheart, Matt. We both attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. We are diehard Husker fans, so Saturdays in the fall you will find us in Lincoln. Matt went off to school while I attended Dental School at Creighton University. During my last year of dental school, I gave birth to our daughter, Kenley. Two years later, our son, Grant, came along. My husband travels for his job, so when I’m not at the office, a lot of my time is spent chauffeuring my kids around. I love to cook and entertain, and if I weren’t a dentist, I would love to be a chef and/or party planner. I also enjoy traveling, gardening, and being outside–I am not one to just sit around too often.

My interest in art and science is what initially drew me to dentistry. Over the years, it has grown into a passion. I enjoy all aspects of dentistry, but especially getting to know the people behind the smiles. I am excited to be a part of such a great team at Today’s Dental. It is so rewarding to come to work in a place where everyone is committed to putting the patient first.
I studied plant genetics at Montana State University for my undergraduate. I found my way to Omaha via Creighton University School of Dentistry and have been here ever since. I had such a great experience at Creighton that I joined the faculty a few years after graduation. I have taught at the Dental School part time in the departments of Endodontics and General Dentistry. Through my Creighton connections, I have also been fortunate to be a part of the Henry Doorly Zoo dental team. We go in when animals such as tigers or gorillas have dental issues and help the veterinarians. It is exciting to see exotic animals up close and help them with their oral health.
Dentistry is rapidly evolving, from implants to cosmetics and new preventive measures. I seek out continuing education through various dental organizations to stay up-to-date and give our patients the highest quality treatment available. As a result of the continuing education I’ve done, I received a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.
My husband and I welcomed our baby boy last May. He has been keeping us busy and enjoys playing with his “brothers” (our golden doodle and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel). We love doing outdoor activities like running, hiking, and biking.

As a dental healthcare professional, each day affords me the opportunity to create a positive impact in the lives of my patients. I strongly believe that I am in the service business. My focus is to serve patients in such a way that by listening to their wants and desires, together we can make decisions to improve their quality of life by either chewing, speaking, or even smiling again! A direct result of this approach has been the beginning of a loyal patient base, which I am very excited about. I also believe that a key to a successful dental experience, as well as a lasting and healthy relationship, is patient education. I promise to communicate openly and honestly with my patients regarding their dental health.
I was raised here in Omaha from elementary school through my graduation from Skutt Catholic High School. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Creighton University and then went on earn my doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where I also received the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Award for dental implantology.
My wife and I are at home here in Omaha, and we love raising our three children in this wonderful and growing city. I most enjoy watching my kids grow up, and I do my best to capture these precious moments on camera while still being “in the moment” myself. I have a growing interest in photography since my oldest was born and have carried that passion into learning more about dental photography. I’m definitely a sports fan, and having parents that graduated from K-State and KU, my kids have a tough time knowing who to root for—Creighton, Nebraska, Iowa or K-State. That mix of fans always makes for interesting weekends!

I have always been interested in working with my hands to build, fix, and design. Dentistry has presented me the opportunity to do all of these things and apply different sciences and materials so that I can continue to improve and modify my skills. Staying up to date on the latest research and products is very important to me and I feel that my patients have greatly benefited from my efforts to do so.
My hometown is Papillion, Nebraska and I attended college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I remained in Lincoln to attend the University of Nebraska Medical Center College Of Dentistry. After receiving my Doctor or Dental Surgery degree I elected to enroll in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Wichita State University in Kansas. This one year long program offered me the opportunity to work side by side with a variety of specialists and other general dentists to learn the advanced techniques and technologies they use in their own fields of dentistry.
My wife and son are excited to be back in Nebraska and I am thrilled to be working with a great team at Today’s Dental.
