Family Dental Care in Omaha
Proper dental care is important throughout your life. By practicing good oral hygiene at home and scheduling regular checkups with your dentist, you can help keep your smile bright and healthy for many years to come. At Today’s Dental, we offer a range of services to meet all of your dental needs, from routine exams to extensive cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
I would have to say that my visits were what I was hoping for. No pushy people in my face telling me what I needed to have done. I am very pleased with all the people that I have come in contact with. I can say in four words, ‘I am very happy’. Thank-you all for making me feel important.
Prevention is a vital part of oral hygiene. In addition to caring for your teeth at home between dental visits with thorough brushing and flossing, our team at Today’s Dental offers a number of preventive family dental care services, including:
- Preventive Exams & Cleanings
- Digital X-rays
- Fluoride Treatments
- Periodontal (Gum) Care
- Oral Cancer Screenings
- Occlusal Appliance for Tooth Wear
If it’s been six months since your last dental checkup, then it’s time to contact our practice and schedule your next appointment!
Sometimes our teeth need a little extra attention due to wear and tear or damage. Our restorative services can give your smile new life and get you back to a smile that feels and looks great!
If we see signs of a cavity during your exam, we may recommend a composite filling. These types of fillings are tooth-colored, so they blend in naturally with your other teeth. They are also smaller than traditional silver fillings, so the preparation is faster. Often we can remove the cavity and place the filling during your routine appointment.
Crowns & Bridges
Dental crowns, or caps, are placed on top of cracked or otherwise damaged teeth to provide protection and strength. Thanks to our dedication to implementing advanced technologies, the team at Today’s Dental is able to design, fabricate, and place crowns in a single visit using the CEREC®
same-day crown system.
A bridge replaces a missing tooth by connecting to crowns placed on either side of the gap. A false tooth sits in place of the missing tooth, closing the gap and completing your smile.
At Today’s Dental, we have the ability to provide start-to-finish dental implant care, meaning we can place the implant, create and place the restoration (crown, bridge, or denture), and even perform bone grafts if we find your jawbone isn’t strong enough for an implant.
We can also fit you with comfortable, natural-looking dentures that stay in place and let you eat, speak, and smile with ease again. Dentures help you look more youthful too since they prevent your cheeks from sagging, which can occur with missing teeth.
There are times when it is necessary to remove a tooth. If we determine that an extraction is necessary, we may extract the tooth during a regular checkup or schedule another visit for this procedure. The root of each tooth is encased within your jawbone in a “tooth socket,” and your tooth is held in that socket by a ligament. In order to extract a tooth, your dentist must expand the socket and separate the tooth from the ligament holding it in place. While this procedure is typically very quick, it is important to share with your doctor any concerns or preferences for sedation.
Once a tooth has been removed, neighboring teeth may shift, causing problems with chewing or with your jaw joint function. To avoid these complications, your Omaha dentist may recommend that you replace the extracted tooth.
